Attention Homeowners!
Please take note of the closure of Lynbrook Landing due to the Baker Rd. Construction.
The barricades that were located at the intersection of Lynbrook Landing, Edisto Court and Kiawah Court were removed to allow the contractor access to the construction site. For safety reasons, temporary barricades were installed at the intersection of the future Baker Road and Lynbrook Landing and the intersection of the future Baker Road and Bulls Bay Drive to close off the construction site to the public. Due to the difference in elevation of the roadway construction at the intersection of the future Baker Road and Lynbrook Landing and the future Baker Road and Bulls Bay Drive, the contractor cannot keep the intersection open to traffic. We do not make decisions regarding road closures lightly. It is simply not safe to allow traffic through the work zone.
Since the bus stop that is located at Port Royal Drive and Bulls Bay Drive is not accessible by automobile for parents to drop off children, and we do not want children walking through the construction zone, the elementary school bus will pick up the children that live on Edisto Court and Kiawah Court at the intersection of Lynbrook Landing and Birchridge Court. The bus drivers have been notified.
The middle school and high school children that live on Edisto Court and Kiawah Court will catch the bus at the intersection of Lynbrook Landing and Bridgewater Arch. This is a much shorter walking distance for these children. Attached is a map for your reference.
All of this information will be in a notice that is delivered to the residents on Edisto Court and Kiawah Court.
We understand that closing off the use of Bulls Bay Drive to the homes on Kiawah Court and Edisto Court is an inconvenience, but it is necessary to complete the construction of Baker Road in a timely manner.
Thank you for your patience during the construction of Baker Road. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any additional questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Toni Alger, P.E.
